This I described in the long mail that I sent to the mailing list – before we can start using standard xgettext in TDE, we will need to add support for a new way of plural forms of strings and translation contexts. Therefore, so far TDEL10n module uses kde-xgettext => we need gettext-kde.

Looks good after testing
The only concern I have is that we still need to use gettext-kde package. Anyhow we can merge this PR and later address the change to gettext.
