I will most likely do that for the rest of them. So we can get rid of that KDE3 past finaly.
That means:
"Starting KDE public fileserver applet" -> "Starting TDE public fileserver applet".
or (Updated 29.07.2019):
"KNewStuff" -> "TDENewStuff".
"KFilereplace" -> "TDEFilereplace".
"KMenu" -> "TDEMenu".
"KDEicon" -> "TDEicon". (Example from tdevelop)
"KDEsvn" -> "TDEsvn". (Example from tdesvn)
Some list will be maintained here, to show what components of TDE are already clean of that.

Update: As today, I have looked at every application in TDE and there should be no "KDE" still anywhere in the messages. But as pointed out above, I added some special cases and will re-check for that again in some places. If you find some missing "KDE" by random, please post it here. 😃
@Chris: thanks for your hard work on rebranding. It was something that was needed and helps polishing the image of TDE as an independent product.
I did a search for KDE in tde-i18n .pot files and I can see several results still coming up. So I guess there is more work to do on this 😄

It seems you are right.
There are some strings like "Part of the KDEWebDev module", which could, or should be changed too, to be consistent. And because that specific one was moved to tdeutils, it should be "TDEUtils".
But if I just search for "KDE" (with quotations), I just get one result in konqueror.pot, for a entry, which should be stay that way for a reason.
But if I search for KDE (without quotations), I get a lot of fuzz, because that includes email addresses ending with "@kde.org" or copyrights, which should be stay that way and should not be changed. Also a lot of entries are results of sources of the strings. Messages like "Ported to KDE2" should be also stay that way.
Also the famous "KDE button" is included too, which is related to that PR:

EDIT: Because of your findings, I just changed two further brandings. One in tdeutils and one in tdeedu. If you have other examples just let me know. 👍
Changing all emails, maintainers and URLs to TDE are seperate tasks which will be done too in future. 😄
Hi Chris, you can search case sensitive for KDE for example. Or use regex and search for kde[^.] or similar patterns to filter out the matches that you don't want 😉 This will reduce the amount of results you get.
Using tdefilereplace you can also save and reload search results and work on them piece after piece. After you are done with one file, just remove it from the list and continue with the next. You need R14.1.0 tdeflereplace for this, not R14.0.x.
Hello Michele, thanks for the tip, but that was no real complain. I just wanted to point out, that most if not all results I get now, are noise and not related.
I wrote that, to find out, if I am not rightly understanding you. Do you have searched in tde-i18n? The only results, with case sensitive and not case sensitive I get still, are results which can be stay that way, from my point of view.
It's good that as much people review that as possible, before we really close it.
Maybe Slavek can do a quick check too?
EDIT: I had the idea to do the same also for the translations itself. Most of these were already fixed by the script back then when TDE was forked of. But we know today, that sadly the original strings were forgotten. That should be fixed now. I will check for that, if that makes sense.
Hi Chris, yes I did search tde-i18n but to be honest didn't analyzed the results in details. I have done it now and it seems the current results for KDE are legitim, e.g. related to copyright strings of the original KDE team in most cases. I have not checked all results, but a random check on a few of them seems all good.
If you have done a deeper check and are confident all the remaining strings are ok, I guess we can mark this issue as completed and close it of.
Hello Michele, I just found some more of them.
One example is: https://mirror.git.trinitydesktop.org/gitea/TDE/koffice/src/branch/master/chalk/data/palettes/new_kde.gpl#L2 which is imported into Weblate as translation string, like our beloved "KDE_Button"(tm). The fact I seem to have overseen this leads me to the conclusion there are still more of them anywhere in TDE. I also found some "Qt" too, so this issues should better be still open. They are hidding very well, but we will find them. 👍
sure, no problem. It is easy to miss some entries, there are way to many. We just need to keep working at them over time and slowly we will get to a point where all required rebranding will be completed.
