tdepowersave always reports "plugged in" whether plugged in or not.
"acpi -a" gives correct results when plugged in and when not plugged in.
FWIW I don't recall this in 14.0.7 but I don't know of an easy way to go back to 14.0.7 to verify this.

FYI I downgraded ONLY tdepowersave-trinity to 14.0.7 and it says running on battery whether plugged in or not.
However Device Manager gives correct answer.
I'm going to post this and do some more tests and follow up in a few minutes with more info.

Thank you for testing. I had the same suspicion while researching tdepowersave on Pinebook Pro. It seems to be platform dependent, because on EeePC changes in power state are reflected correctly.

The problem with signaling the change of power supply status has been resolved in TDE/tdelibs#110. The problem mentioned for Pinebook Pro is of a different type and will be solved as a separate issue in TDE/tdepowersave.

For a quick test you can try to use Slax with Trinity, which has not been updated to R14.0.8 yet.
Please, you can look in Device Manager on R14.0.8, how many power supply devices you have there.
One:
Ok thank you. In the Device Manager, what status is displayed in the power supply properties? Is the status displayed correctly here?

OK. My best guess is that tdepowersave-trinity is reporting power status correctly at start of sesssion but not seeing any updates thereafter.
