After upgrading to R14.1.0-dev from PSB four weeks ago or so, Konqueror drastically changed its behaviour. Now when double clicking in the right panel on an empty space (i.e. not a file name) it moves one directory up. This was not the case before the update. I am guessing this is an intended change, but for me this is a horrible misfeature as it changes one of the core behaviours of a program I've been relying on for two decades now. It is extremely frustrating to be moved to a different directory when misclicking a file name. There should be an option to restore the old behaviour.

Hi Janek,
it is indeed an intended change, something that was done back in 2014 or 2015 as long as I remember.
I will add an option to enable/disable this in R14.1.1, since R14.1.0 has already been soft frozen. If you had tested/reported a few weeks ago, there would have been time to squeeze in the option for R14.1.0, but now it's too late. You will need to leave with it for a while. If you stay on PSB, I can probably look at fixing this relatively soon after R14.1.0 is out.

Thanks, I would appreciate that. I'll be waiting for a fix, this is crucial for me. For now I'm not updating my other machines to keep the old behaviour. I'm guessing there's no easy way to downgrade now?

Of course it is a matter of habits/preferences, but I encourage you to give it a try. I find the double click very useful because I can quickly navigate up without having to reach far away for the Up icon with the mouse. But will add an option anyway :-)

Probably not that easy or worth the risk IMO.
R14.1.0 is out end of the month, so you won't have to wait too long, assuming you can live with it for a while.

I have - it's confusing. I just misclick too often and trigger this accidentally. Perhaps I would find this useful if it could be hidden behind a modifier key, e.g. if this only worked when holding Shift.

That is also a nice idea. Let's discuss once R14.1.0 is out and we will work out a solution

For the time being, you may want to consider adjusting the double-click delay time, so that you don't trigger it unintentionally. There is an option in TCC under Mouse.

No, that won't help. The problem isn't in the timing itself, the problem is with missing the double-click, which I do use a lot.

PR merged and backported to R14.1.x. Updated packages will be available when PSB building is restarted.
@jstolarek hope this will be good enough for your needs :-)

PR #341 introduces an option to enable/disable the new functionality. By default it is enabled.

Works as expected - thanks!
Sorry for late reply, for whatever reason I didn't get email notifications :S
Nice, good to hear it solves the problem :-)
