Basic information

  • TDE version: R14.1.0
  • Distribution: debian buster
  • Hardware: amd64

Description

When a new note is created, it is not saved to the .ics file until it is either modified or until exiting knotes. Since the note has been created on the screen, it should also appear on the .ics file.

The problem is more evident when creating a note from DCOP, where text and description can be set at creation time.

Please, consider the time needed for writing. I agree with you in general, but if I have 50 notes created on the phone and I sync sending note for note to the PC, what you suggest would mean waiting to write each note, before processing the next one.

Could be there some other way to achieve this?

Also I was wondering why knotes would use dedicated file and not the journal in the default calendar?

If we consider correcting all things around knotes, perhaps we discuss also this topic.

There are some serious issues with knotes/kontact system as described in #16. A proper solution for that will probably required some non-minor changes. IF we get around to work on that, we can consider what is the best way to address this issue to.

Did you mean originally the problem was in creating the note in kontact?

The problem is that if notes are edited in kontact and knotes, they are not synced correctly, so one would overwrite changes made on the other side as described in #16
