Hi Darrell,
please do not attach a patch, create a pull request instead. This streamlines the process and also automatically takes care of code authorship.
Instructions at https://wiki.trinitydesktop.org/TDE_Gitea_Workspace#To_contribute_code_changes. You are already part of the Contributors group, so there is nothing holding you back from creating PRs :-)

Sorry Michele, I am not playing the geek game with git. I am retired. I no longer have the patience or energy to deal with this git nonsense, creating local branches, certificates of origin, private repos, or whatever. All I want to do is use my computer. Since I am the square peg in a world of round holes, I'll just move on.

Not a problem Darrell.
The code in a PR is likely to get merged/feedbacked upon much more quickly, compared to code in an issue. But if you are ok with waiting it is fine.
In any case, R14.1.0 is now in soft freeze, so till it's release (end of April) there won't be merges anyway :-)

Hi Darrell @Woodsman,
looks like the attached file is corrupted, I can't uncompress it. Can you upload it again?
This patch is really unrecoverable, not like the other two (TDE/tdetoys#20 and TDE/tdebase#327)
Try this.
