Except for explicit enable C++11, there is a bug in the gpsim headers – see Debian bug #939338.

To successfully test ktechlab builds, you can use a hack – put in file /usr/include/gpsim/breakpoints.h a line #include "../config.h" into a comment.

Tested locally (not clean chroot environment) on R14.1.0-dev modifying /usr/include/gpsim/breakpoints.h as described above. Works fine.

By the way, the updated gpsim is already in unstable, so it should soon come into testing as well.

Yes, it looks okay – I tested the build in all versions of Debian in PSB.
